Do More Bars' Gluten Free Bars at the Upstate SC Gluten-Free Expo on September 28th

The Upstate SC Gluten-Free Expo in Greenville, SC will be held Saturday, September 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, Waggoner Conference Center at 424 Westfield Street. This year's event will include tastings, samples, coupons, and a look at what is available in local restaurants, bakeries, and pizzarias. Among the vendors, Do More Bars will be offering tastings of their gourmet fruit & nut gluten free bars, hand made in Pisgah Forest, NC. They will also offer special event pricing and give away 15% off coupons for use at their online store, Do More Bars.com Their bars are sold nationwide, as well as locally at various stores including the bakery department at Ingles Supermarkets. The event is sponsored by Ingles Supermarkets in conjunction with the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) of Greenville. The sponsors will provide educational handouts, raffles for gluten free gift baskets and Ingles Markets Gift Cards. This year's featured speaker is Gluten Free Gigi, blogger, author, scientist. Event entry fee is $5 for ages 12 and over.

Do More Bars Announces New Apple Walnut Gluten Free Bars are Now Available

Earlier this year Do More Bars hosted a 'Do Us A Flavor' contest where the flavor to be created this year would be determined by popular vote. Apple Walnut was the winner and now after much cooking, tasting and refining the new Apple Walnut gluten free bars are now available on-line and in select locations. All those who voted for the winning combination were entered in a drawing to win six bars of the new flavor. Congratulations go to Barry D. of Asheville. He received his six-pack and had this to say....."I am enjoying the new Apple Walnut flavor! Dang it's soooo good! The flavor is so fresh and tasty! Thanks" The new whole grain bars contain apple juice, dried apples and walnuts; keeping with the company's philosophy of using all natural wholesome ingredients to make delicious and nutritious bars.

Apple Walnut Gluten Free Bars Sold by 'Do More Bars' at the NC Apple Festival this Labor Day Weekend to Benefit the National Foundation for Transplants

The introduction of Do More Bars' new Apple Walnut gluten free bars couldn't have better timing than this Labor Day weekend at the NC Apple Festival in Hendersonville, NC. To make it even better, the cereal bar company is teaming up with the National Foundation for Transplants (NFT) in their efforts to raise money to help with the expenses of a double lung transplant patient. The NFT will have a booth located on Main St. near 3rd Ave. and will offer snack items for sale including the new Apple Walnut Do More Bar. This will be a unique apple snack offering at the festival and the new flavor is not yet available in stores or on-line, so event goers are in for a first when they stop by the booth where Do More Bars founder, Tammy Woods will be sharing free samples. Do More Bars' Gluten Free Bars Already Compliant With New FDA Gluten Free Labeling Guidelines

Do More Bars' gluten free bars labeling is already compliant with the new Food and Drug Administration (FDA) rule that foods labeled 'gluten free' test at less than 20 ppm (parts per million) for gluten. The rule was published in the Federal Register on August 5, 2013 and manufacturers have one year to become compliant. This long awaited ruling is a relief to those with celiac disease whose only way to manage their condition is through eating a gluten free diet. No matter how the claim is stated, 'free of gluten', 'no gluten', etc., the same standard applies. Foods must be either inherently gluten free or be processed to the point that the gluten has been removed. Fortunately, Do More Bars are made with ingredients that are naturally gluten free and the finished products are also tested periodically for gluten as an extra control measure. The FDA estimates that about 5% of the products claiming to be gluten free have more than 20 ppm gluten, so it is important to know which products on the market are already compliant.

Do More Bars has been working on their newest flavor, Apple Walnut, and will have the first round of samples ready to taste this Saturday, June 29th at the Transylvania Farmers Market in Brevard, NC. Creator, Tammy Woods, will be there sharing different variations and looking for feedback. Woods commented, "The apple walnut flavor was picked by popular vote in our 'Do Us A Flavor' contest and now we want customer feedback to help us fine tune it to perfection." There will be two variations to try each week for the next three weeks. Gluten-Free Bars by Do More Bars Included in 'Love With Food' June Tastings Box

LoveWithFood.com, offering unique and hard-to-find gourmet food products, will be including Do More Bars' pineapple coconut bar in its subscription tastings box in June. Every month, thousands of members receive a box of tasty bites which varies based on seasonal themes. Do More Bars is pleased to announce they have become a brand partner with Love With Food and their gluten-free pineapple coconut bar will be among the gourmet offerings that will be sent out the first of June. Tammy Woods, founder of Do More Bars, stated, "We are very excited to team up with Love With Food. Do More Bars Announces New Gluten-Free Bar Flavor - Apple Walnut

The company announced today that the winning flavor combination in their 'Do Us A Flavor Contest' was Apple Walnut. Each year, Do More Bars, gluten free bars, develops a new flavor, but this year the company wanted the flavor to be the 'People's Choice'. For this contest the company encouraged everyone to send in their favorite fruit and nut combination. The feedback was so varied, from wasabi peas and green raisins to lime pistachio, that there was no single flavor combination that was clearly the winner. So the preliminary voting was narrowed down to four of the most popular choices; Peach Almond, Apricot Almond, Apple Walnut and Banana Walnut. A second round of voting made for a very tight race between the Apple Walnut and the Peach Almond, but in the end the Apple Walnut came out on top. Founder Tammy Woods stated, "This has been such a fun contest. We love hearing what tastes good to people; some combinations I never would have thought of doing. It's been enlightening. The feedback from this contest will certainly influence future flavors." The new Apple Walnut flavor will be in the works this summer and should be available by August. All those who suggested the winning flavor will be entered in a drawing. The winner will receive a six-pack of the new flavor when it comes out.

The 6th annual Gluten-Free Expo & Information Fair in Asheville, NC will be held Saturday, April 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Sherrill Center, Kimmel Arena, UNCA Campus, 227 Campus Drive. This year's event will include tastings, samples, coupons, cooking demos, local restaurants and bakeries, plus information for a gluten-free life. Over 65 vendors will be presenting, including Do More Bars, gluten free, gourmet fruit & nut cereal bars, made locally in Pisgah Forest, NC. They will offer samples of all their flavors and give away 15% off coupons for use at their online store, Do More Bars.com The bars are sold nationwide, as well as locally at various stores including Ingles Supermarkets; event sponsor along with the Gluten Intolerance group of Asheville, and the Hendersonville Celiac Support Group. This year's featured speaker is Carol Shilson, Executive Director, University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center. Event entry fee is $5 for ages 12 and over; $20 max for families.
